Looks delicious, right? Go on, did in!

This is nabe (na nah – be bay), a piping hotpot that is wonderful during the cold winter. It arrives at the table in it’s own pot (if you want, you can share, but this one in the picture is for a single person). Light the flame and wait around ten minutes for it to cook properly.

Normally it’s seasonal veggies and some type of meat; pork, beef or even seafood. Hokkaido does great seafood nabe!

Another warm thing to eat in winter is meat when the grill is at your table!
