Earthquake Friday

11 Mar

So, I’m now kind of stranded at my friend’s apartment in Maebashi (you can click on their link below at the happyfuntime blog). The trains are down, and I have no way of heading back home to Isesaki. On the other hand, none of my friends are hurt, and even though my apartment had stuff falling down in it, nothing broke.

Anyhow, here’s my picture for the day, courtesy of the kencho building.

If you look in the middle of the street, there is a silver car that has stopped because of the earthquake. And what you shouldn’t do is run outside of the building, but many of the people working in the kencho have done just that, and are watching the building dance.

During this time, I and all the high school ALTs were attending a meeting. I can vouch that it was an exciting meeting….especially when the intercom said not to use the elevators in the 36 floor building.

Glad you are ok. How is our Sister City, Isesaki? Did they they sustain any major damage? Just wanting to know how many of our friends are doing.

As far as I know, Isesaki has not sustained any damage….on the other hand, the trains are not working here.

God has blessed you and Isaac. Say a prayer of thanks for His goodness to you. We were also spared, of course we were evacuated and are in Guayaquil enjoying a few extra days of vacation. Love you, Mom and Dad
