Carpzilla

Don’t let the size fool you, these carp are a lot bigger than they look! Carpzilla, or Koizilla, would be a better name for these guys.

Koi are a traditional Japanese fish and can be seen many times over in the culture; paintings, holidays (Children’s Day comes to mind) and they can even be embroidered on kimono. They are a symbol for love and friendship, since the since sound Koi means affection / love.

My husband and I were going to feed them bread crumbs, but…the sign actually says don’t feed the fish.

Ducks I can understand, but fish? Well, since they live for centuries, maybe they don’t want fat(ter) fish?
